The Mission

Mandrake Bioworks is building the foundational AI stack to make biology programmable. We are not just analyzing data; we are building intelligent systems to design new molecular tools from first principles. Our goal is to unlock the next generation of gene editing to solve for longevity, de-aging, and climate resilience.

We are a VC-backed, small, high-velocity applied research lab. We don’t care about credentials; we care about proof of work, first-principles thinking, and the ability to ship.

The Archetype: Who We Are Looking For

Ideally, you started with a Biotechnology/Biology undergrad, giving you an intuitive grasp of the central dogma and how life works-but you have spent the last 5-7 years deep in the trenches of pure AI/ML.

You didn’t just join the hype when LLMs became popular; you were building models in the pre-LLM era. You understand the math behind the magic. You have a deep intuition for loss landscapes, attention mechanisms, and optimization that only comes from years of wrestling with raw data and architectures. You might be working in Fintech, AdTech, or DeepTech right now, but you are looking to bring your hard-won engineering toolkit "home" to biology.

The Work

You will have total ownership over the AI stack. You won't just be fine-tuning APIs; you will be:

• Building and training foundation models for proteins and enzymes.
• Designing generative architectures that can create functional biological tools.
• Handling the end-to-end pipeline: from massive-scale biological data curation to implementing RLHF/DPO loops that align models with wet-lab reality.
• Collaborating directly with biologists to turn code into living, breathing experiments.
• Location: Bengaluru (On-site).
• Intensity: 6 days a week. We operate with the speed and focus of a wartime startup.
